Barbara Sherf has been involved in the Toastmasters public speaking program for five years. Having gained her Competent Toastmaster certification, she has served for two years as Vice President of Public Relations and one year as Vice President of Education. She has also won several awards in area Toastmasters' public speaking competitions.

Barb was an award-winning print and broadcast journalist for nearly a decade before serving for four years as a spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Southeast Regional office. Sherf then worked in the public relations and corporate arenas.

Barbara created CommunicationsPro.com in September 1996. She specializes in speech and executive coaching, business writing, public relations, social marketing and community outreach programs for an array of clients. Barbara is married to Brad Shapiro, a Director of Photography and President of Location Lighting, a grip and lighting rental house.
